White Collar Defense & Government Investigations

Review all our practice areas.

Defending complex white-collar criminal cases presents unique problems that our team has dealt with throughout their careers. Even when dealing with terabytes of data, we leave no stone unturned in developing the most effective defense.

Our team has experience handling criminal, civil, and regulatory investigations for corporate and individual clients. We have represented clients in investigations conducted internally, as well as by the Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney’s Offices, Congress, the Internal Revenue Service, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, state Attorneys General, state prosecutors, and others. We have represented clients facing investigations in Florida, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, Georgia, New York, Arizona, California, and elsewhere.

Our team members have further been featured in Martindale-Hubbell, Chambers USA Regional Spotlight, Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers, and Florida Trend’s Legal Elite.

We have had the privilege of representing lawyers, doctors, executives, former national security officials, and other licensed professionals facing criminal, civil, and regulatory investigations. Our experience also including assisting clients living in the United Kingdom, China, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and elsewhere. Where international matters touch upon our client, we have worked with law firms in the United Kingdom, Greece, Poland, Scotland, Norway, and elsewhere.

When retained during a confidential investigative stage, our goal is to resolve the matter before charges are filed or the case becomes public. In recent years, we have convinced federal and state authorities to abandon investigations or decline to file charges. We have also successfully negotiated immunity agreements and non-prosecution agreements.

We further represent those charged in federal or state court with crimes. Our system of justice is not perfect, police and prosecutors can and do make mistakes. We believe that tenacity in the defense of liberty is no vice, and moderation in the pursuit of justice for our clients is no virtue. Recently our team secured an order from a federal judge dismissing a fraud case against a senior official at the Department of Veterans Affairs. After years of litigation in state and federal courts, and multiple searches the Department of Homeland Security conducted, we recently learned that the Department of Justice would not charge a CEO our team represented. Internationally, our team worked with a law firm in Greece to secure a dismissal of charges against the CEO of an international corporation.

In addition to working on our own, we have partnered with law firms on criminal and civil trials. Our partners rely on us to bring skill, experience and credibility to the courtroom. We know how to work collaboratively, economically and efficiently with any law firm looking for a trial partner.
